Jacqui is an Associate Director of Theatr Cynefin.
Born in New Zealand and brought up in North Wales I have spent lots of time wondering where I belong. Both countries have strong cultures and lots of character. But recently I think I am coming to the conclusion that I will never really know!
Sensory Labyrinth Theatre came into my life about four years ago when I was in my second year at Bretton Hall studying acting. I had just finished a year that taught me about Modernism, Post Modernism and Physical Theatre. Caerdroia had just been built in Llanrwst which happened to be my home town and I got involved. I saw immediately many elements of what I had learnt within the Labyrinth. It gave me the opportunity to explore myself and to engage intimately with the audience in a way I had never imagined. I went on to write my dissertation about Sensory Labyrinth Theatre and have been lucky enough to be involved, as an actor and an associate director, with several Cynefin projects at the Caerdroia. I also co-directed a Labyrinth at a Vineyard in New Zealand which was lots of fun!
I am currently working as the Community Arts Officer at Theatr Harlech on the West Coast of Wales.
