Iwan Brioc is Director of Theatr Cynefin, freelance applied theatre consultant and originator of Context Oriented Theatre. His passion is to co-create with communities performances that shake us out of the ruts of ordinary perception and in this pursuit is always traversing the crevasses of uncertainty that pock the tundra of impossible ambition!
He was previously a Co-Director of Theatr Fforwm Cymru where he initiated the first national Legislative Theatre project, leaving in 2004 to develop Theatr Cynefin full time.
He is one of the founder members of Drums for Peace, a European network of artists engaged in performance based exchanges between disadvantaged young people. He also founded The Republic of the Imagination, the international network of Context Oriented Theatre.
He is married to ballerina and Theatr Cynefin project officer Aleksandra Jones and lives in Cardiff, Wales.
