July and August 2005, Llanrwst, Conwy, Wales (video and soundtrack)

Theatr  Cynefin were commissioned in 2004 by North Wales Stage to develop a Sensory Labyrinth Theatre production in Conwy, North Wales.  There was just one small problem.  There was nowhere big enough to house the labyrinths we were by then creating. So we got together with a community group called Golygfa Gwydyr and built the largest outdoor labyrinth in the world.

At one mile long the path follows the classical Cretan design through a pine forrest and it continues to act as a stage for promenade performances.  Once built Theatr Cynefin committed to creating five performances on the site around different days in the Celtic Calendar.  We also used the site for several international training events which won European awards for best practice.
